YOUTH BUILD
Empowering the Next Generation of Change-Makers.
At Big Bend Habitat for Humanity, we believe in investing in the future by nurturing a love for volunteering from a young age. Our Youth Build program offers volunteer opportunities for individuals aged 5 to 40, providing a chance for young people to take meaningful action while making a positive impact on their communities.

Help the youth today!
Why Youth Build Matters.
Younger generations have always been a driving force for social change, inspiring the rest of us to better our world. That passion, when paired with tangible service, can create real, lasting change. Youth Build is the intersection of aspiration and action, where young people can turn their ideals into meaningful community service.

Benefits of Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
Volunteering with Big Bend Habitat for Humanity offers numerous personal and community benefits. Our Youth Build program allows young people to:
Connect with People from Different Walks of Life: Volunteering with Habitat gives youth the opportunity to work alongside diverse groups of volunteers and future Habitat homeowners, building bridges of understanding and empathy.
Learn About Housing Inequality: Youth volunteers gain insight into the challenges many face regarding unsafe, unaffordable housing and the importance of providing safe, decent homes.
Strengthen Communities: By volunteering, young people actively participate in improving their neighborhoods, becoming part of the solution to local housing needs.
Experience a Sense of Accomplishment: Youth volunteers experience the reward of seeing their hard work contribute to something meaningful—providing families with a place to call home.
Learn New Skills: Volunteers will gain valuable skills in construction, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, all while building confidence in their abilities.
Make a Lasting Impact: The work done in Youth Build not only improves the lives of local families but also leaves a lasting mark on the volunteers themselves, instilling a lifelong commitment to service.
Have Fun While Making a Difference: Volunteering is a rewarding and enjoyable way to spend time, often in ways young people may not have thought possible.
How You Can Get Involved.
